Clare shares her tips on food that helped her mother through her cancer diagnosis - kid's ready meals and pineapple

Clare supported her mother through her cancer diagnosis

When my mother was suffering from her second bout of cancer, she enjoyed the Marks and Spencer kid's meals. They are small and as she has lost her appetite the portion is about right. She hasn’t much energy so they are easy to prepare as she can just pop them in the microwave. She has a few in the freezer which helps too.

I was told by a nurse specialist that they recommend fresh pineapple to cancer patients going through chemo. It has to be fresh, not tinned or juice. Apparently it helps with loss of taste.

Hope this helps.
