The route is seriously flat & rapid – if you want to set a personal best for a half marathon, then this is the event for you. Starting conveniently at 11am just outside Edinburgh, you will run along the magnificent East Lothian Golf Coast before finishing in the final furlong at Musselburgh Racecourse; Scotland’s oldest racecourse.

On Saturday, 2nd November 2024, the iconic Forth Road Bridge will be completely closed for you to walk, jog or run 5k. Celebrate its 60th anniversary in a magical, immersive evening of light and colour, as we change thousands of lives for the better. Expressions of interest to participate in this event is already unprecedented, and as such, a ballot process will be used to allocate places for this exclusive experience.
Fast and flat, this course was voted the fastest marathon in the UK by Runners World, ideal if it’s your first marathon or you are looking for a PB. The Edinburgh Marathon has sold out every year since 2008 and is the second largest marathon in the UK, behind only London.
