Friends of Anchor

Friends of ANCHOR is a charity dedicated to supporting people in the north of Scotland who are affected by cancer or a blood disorder.

Our support is freely available to those being treated in the ANCHOR Unit (the Aberdeen & North Centre for Haematology, Oncology and Radiotherapy) is and delivered with compassion, care and hope.

Working hand-in-glove with the NHS, we take care of the ‘big little things’ — whether it’s a listening ear, a home comfort or a smiling face.

Our person-centred wellbeing services include specialised complementary therapies and mindfulness.

Our practical and emotional support includes care packs, a daily newspaper service, a confidential Listening Service and therapet visits.

We also fund a Making Memories scheme, giving patients with a terminal diagnosis the chance to make precious memories with their loved ones.

Alongside this wellbeing offering, we are committed to funding cutting-edge equipment and research, as development programmes for NHS clinical staff to enhance knowledge and expertise.
