Berwickshire Wheels is a community transport service that:

• Has a dedicated team of volunteer drivers
• Can be hired by community groups
• Offers free registration to anyone - for life
• Offers affordable and accessible transport
• Is available to anyone struggling to access transport
• Lets people keep their independence for longer
• All drivers are PVG checked

What can the vehicles be used for?

They can be used for healthcare appointments, shopping trips, group outings, visiting relatives, leisure activities, social events and self hire/drive. We'd love to have you on board.

What size of vehicles are available?

There are seven vehicles of different sizes, with five in Duns, one in Coldstream and one in Ayton. Five of the vehicles are adapted to carry wheelchair users, but all are suitable for those with mobility difficulties. The maximum capacity is 16 passengers plus the driver.

How much does it cost?

For individuals, there are set charges, calculated from town to town. VAT is applicable on certain vehicles.

Group bookings are charged at £1.20 per mile with a minimum charge of £10.

Hire Rates – Self Drive are charged at £60 per day for the minibuses and £35 per day for the cars.
