A number of female golfers came together at Baberton Golf Club for a fantastic ladies’ golf fundraising event in support of Cancer Card, raising an incredible £1,335.70.
The event brought together members, supporters and local businesses for a day of golf, fundraising and community spirit, with raffles and prize giveaways helping to boost donations throughout the day.
A massive thank you to all the volunteers who helped out on the day, in particular Anthea, who baked her own shortbread and tablet especially for the fundraiser. Maggie who is the godmother of Jackie who recently received support from Cancer Card, spent hours running the raffle stall. Throughout the event, all of the volunteers warmth, dedication and determination helped raise an amazing amount of money for Cancer Card.
Stories like this are exactly why events like this are so important. Every fundraiser, raffle ticket and donation helps Cancer Card continue supporting people and families facing cancer by connecting them with practical help, wellbeing services, emotional support and small acts of kindness that can make a huge difference during incredibly difficult times.
We would like to give a huge thank you to the Baberton team: Michelle, Adrienne, Laura, Anthea and everyone that helped, for all of their hard work in making the event such a success! The efforts contributed by the women at the Baberton Golf event were a powerful reminder of the impact community support can have.
We are also incredibly grateful to the local businesses who generously donated raffle prizes and helped make the fundraising possible:
