We’re incredibly proud to share a special milestone at Cancer Card: we have now sent 2,000 free Comfort Boxes to cancer patients across Scotland.
Every box represents someone going through what can be an incredibly uncertain, overwhelming and challenging time. While a box of practical items can’t take away the difficulties of a cancer diagnosis or treatment, we hope it can offer something important along the way. A little comfort, practical support, and the reassurance that someone is thinking of you.
Our free Cancer Comfort Box has been thoughtfully created with patients, bringing together a selection of practical and comforting items to support you through your experience with cancer.
From keeping warm and hydrated to having somewhere to write down appointments and thoughts, each item has been chosen with the everyday realities of cancer treatment in mind.
Most importantly, every box carries the same message:
You are cared for. You are supported. You are part of a community that is here for you.
Reaching 2,000 Comfort Boxes is a milestone we’re incredibly grateful to be able to celebrate.
But behind that number are 2,000 individual people and their families, friends and loved ones, each with their own story, their own experience of cancer and their own reasons for needing a little extra support.
We’re so thankful to everyone who has helped make these boxes possible from our supporters, donors, volunteers, partners and everyone who believes in what Cancer Card is trying to achieve.
Every contribution helps us reach another person who might need that bit of support.
We’ll keep working to make sure that people affected by cancer across Scotland can access practical information, support and a community that cares.
We hope to continue delivering our comfort boxes to people across Scotland but we need your support.
