North Ayrshire Cancer Care

North Ayrshire Cancer Care exists as a totally voluntary organisation to provide care and support for cancer patients and their families.

Our services include, transport to and from hospital – before, during and after treatment 24/7, 365 days a year.

We also have a variety of groups which promote a feeling of well-being through chatting, card making, painting or being pampered at our pamper group. Perhaps you will see a place where you could become involved in our organisation by giving a few hours a week to help your community to become a more caring place to live. Taking care of transport Our drivers are mature, caring people and have met and overcome most of the difficulties that arise. We aim to offer you a hassle-free journey. You will be picked up and returned to your own door. We cover all hospitals and clinics in Central Scotland.

Usually you will be the only passenger in the car so there will be room for a friend or relative to escort you if you need or wish, although we do ask that you check this with us when you book. Occasionally another person from your area with an appointment time close to your will travel with you. Most people find this a bonus as it helps to share your experiences with them and long-lasting friendships have been known to form in this way.

We are able to offer our services free to all because our staff is unpaid volunteers and our funds are provided by the community of North Ayrshire through our Charity Shops, donations and other fundraising activities.
