Beach Wheelchairs North Berwick hire beach wheelchairs from our Beach Hut within North Berwick Harbour, East Lothian.

We also have a fixed outdoor hoist at this location but you must provide your own sling with loops.

To help you meet your needs, we have five different beach wheelchairs available. When you call to book with us, we will talk you through the options available to ensure that where possible the wheelchair that you choose meets your needs. The available wheelchairs are:

How to Book

Call our volunteers in advance on 0300 111 2112 to discuss available equipment and book a session which suits you. You can also contact us via email at info@beachwheelchairs.org or PM us via our North Berwick Facebook page. Please note that these are all manned by volunteers and we may not be able to respond immediately.

Sessions can be booked in advance for morning, afternoon or evening 7 days a week.

Where to find us and where to park

We will meet you at our Beach Hut in North Berwick Harbour, EH39 4JL. We have permission for customers to park opposite our Beach Hut within the harbour area (apart form during Fringe by the Sea). To get there you must drive down Victoria Road, open the double black gates and drive very slowly in the harbour area. You will see our stripey Beach Hut in front of you and you should park opposite. Our volunteer will direct you. There are also 2 blue badge spaces on Victoria Road and more in a parking bay beside Milsey Bay.

What you need to know

We will be show you how to use the wheelchair, we'll check your photographic ID and ask you to sign some paperwork and then off you go! We can look after your wheelchair for you. You will need someone who is of good overall health and fitness to push our manual wheelchairs. You can use the beach wheelchair on the West Bay Beach or Milsey Bay Beach.
